Had the most amazing weekend in glasgow watching paul heaton & jacqui abbott – plus a wii bit of shopping and maybe a few fine cask ales. If your looking for good few or good watering holes id recommend http://www.cookandindisworldbuffet.com/ just pay £10 and help yourself to a variety of indian, chineese thai english food! (try the green thai curry ouch!!) also give this place a try if you fancy a nice range of cask / draught http://innisandgunn.com/keep-discovering/events and of course no place is compete without a weatherspoons – ace selection of cask ales, the scottish own brewed cask is amazing – http://www.jdwetherspoon.co.uk/home/pubs/the-edward-g-wylie stopped on the ibis forty quid for the night for two, great location and a great stay http://www.ibis.com/gb/hotel-3139-ibis-glasgow-city-centre/index.shtml
any way the gig was at the O2 abc arena which was sold out and managed to get a nice little spot were we could see the band perfect! they played a blinder of a set, glasgow took a little longer to warm up than the last gig in liverpool and im certain the band layout was slightly different (the guitarist and bass player) but the song layout with a mix of new stuff and housemartins / beautiful south

the bath hotel rubber soul jam on carnival sunday
Just bought this little puppy its a small travel acoustic made by tanglewood its the twrt roadster series AKA folk traveller. All mahogany front back side and neck with a rosewood fingerboard and good quality chrome die cast machine heads, came with matching strap and case. The guitar was second hand but as new and was £60 in cash in dash in morecambe! nice and cheap!
The action seems a tad high so ive been working on the truss rod a touch and its settling in nicely now were i can play comfortably and tune up to a open E and play a bit of slide. Tonally its very full and loud for the size of the guitar and sounds similar to one of my full size acoustics. The neck is spot on not to thin and fret work is perfect. The guitar has a electric version for around £250 online which would be great. Im thinking of making it electric myself. New i think the guitars are around £150 so for a guitar you can leave kicking about or carry around take a look at one of these you wont be disapointed….
the rubber soul is now held on a sunday from 1.30 at smokey occoners, if you want to come and join the fun with rubber soul bring your instrument and join the fun!!.
New part of the orange rig, ive kept the orange 2×12 which is a british made cab. The 1×12 are made in china or japan, but the build is very good, nice weighted, closed back with a handle on the top. Gives a great result ten times better than the open back marshall 2×12. Has that pure orange sound that i like very raw. Have to say it sounded crap on the 1st night but after a hour it started running in and loosening up the driver. The second time i used it, it kicked asssss – so if you buy one, make sure you get a cover for it cause these tear easily which ive had a bad experience with my 2×12 and make sure you run her in im 100% you will be more than happy with the results and at around £225 you cant beat it. Ideal for large and small sized gigs.
